I only use one superior rune (Expertise in my case), the rest minor. To balance out the hit to the HP, I have a minor vigor rune (which, as soon as I either find one or acquire the money to get one, will upgrade to a major or a superior), and a bow grip of fortitude (depending on the bow, between +20 to +26 HP). So, once I get a superior vigor rune, I'll have my HP balanced out. Of course, adding more major/superior runes will drain more health than I can add back, but that's the balancing decision that has to be made (although I don't plan on adding more).

The lowest max health that you can possibly have, regardless of levels and runes, is 1.

I've never actually tested it, but I would assume that Eclair knows what he/she is talking about.

I've heard people say that but never experienced it my self, only seems to work if you have a vampiric item but my guildees say otherwise.

Well I haven't seen it myself, but my one of my guild mates was in a PUG with one, and past a certain DP, when they tried to res him, he'd just die=/
At least that's what he told me lol, but I do know that casting illusion of weakness on yourself at 10 illusion magic at 60% DP will kill you, not sure if they both work the same way though.
Someone should try it with a pvp premade XD

I had a superior tactics rune untill I realised that extra healing points I got in my heal signet er, didn't match up to the health I lost applying it in the first place.
I have two superior runes. One in sword which gives me 15 attributes, and one's a vigor to balance it out. This way I still get to stay over 500 HP
Base is 480. Superior sword takes away 75. Superior Vigor adds back 50. My sword has a +21 permenant health and my shield has a +29 permenant health so that adds 50. With the rest being minor runes I get to have a superior rune but more health than I started with still. Plus having part gladiator armor and a major absorbtion, the armor class is pretty high. I find all this a good balance.
If I only had a major sword I could get over 1K HP with my two strength skills even though I only have 9 in strength. Just work out what's more important. Dps or armor. I found a way to have both.

I would consider using the best VIGOR Rune to compensate for the -50 on a Major rune
I also have health +25 on my sword.. so I suppose I COULD stretch to that one Superior... are the extra few points worth it?.. I dont think so, unless, as has been said, there is a specific strategy.

I have a vest with Major Beast Mastery on it, which I put on to train my new bear. In real battle I would never wear the vest or bring the bear.

I would say if your going to have a Major you are better off witha Superior
With the Major - +1 atrrib costs 50hp
With the Sup +2 costs 75P (ie 37.5hp per attrib point)
So the Superior is much more efficient than a major - I dont see why pay 50hp for 1 when you can pay and extra 25 for 2

Minor = +1 & -0
Major = +2 & -50
Superior = +3 & -75

my stats were using the Minor as a base
Major (+1 over minor) costs 50hp (50hp per atrrib)
Sup (+2 over Minor) costs 75hp (37.5hp per attrib)
If your gonna have a major might as well go to a Sup

Only characters that have an excuse to not use Superiors in PvP are healers/protectors, and even they might want to use them.

Seeing as the max HP is quite low, I dont see how a -75hp rune is good in anyway. Sure it may add some damage, healing, or whatever. But dead people dont do damage.
Balancing with vigor runes? No thanks, vigor runes on there own with minor runes = more hp, more skills with no penalty.
At least that what I think.

With endure pain and defy pain
Yes I know it goes away after 10 or so seconds, but it's the equivilent of a self heal. That means my W/E has three heals. One for 112, one for 216 and one for 216 and 20 extra armor. Saves my arse all the time
